Weekend Recap

This past weekend we did a lot of nothing! I had the on call "emergency" phone for work, so I had to stay somewhere with cell service and access to a computer in case I got a call. Pete also sprained his ankle pretty bad on Tuesday night and really still couldn't walk around too good, so that limited us on what we could really do!
Friday, my sister in laws came over and hung out with the girls all day, and then that evening Emily and I went to a LuLuLemon trunk show at a local yoga studio and then we took the girls to a Dr. Seuss event at Barnes and Noble. Zetta didn't really get a nap at all, and the girl reading the book was very expressive and Zetta just couldn't handle it. We went to the cafe and hada cupcake while the little girls colored and listened to the story. I love little unexpected one on one time with my big girl. She is slowly working her way out of the toddler phase and becoming a big girl. It is a flash into my future to sit there with her and talk about our days. Her vocabulary and memory are so good, I love that we can really have a (basic) conversation.

Saturday, the girls and I snuggled in bed, and then went to Target that morning, and then Pete had to go to Jackson to show a house, so we had him drop the girls and I off at my parent's and we swam with my mom the rest of the morning-mid afternoon. We headed home at nap time and just spent some time at home! That evening we ran to Orange Monkey with Pete and then came home and had breakfast for dinner!

Sunday, we slept in and then I got a wild hair and cleaned the house :) I think it is the first time I have been able to vacuum the whole house and do a few other small chores all while the girls played together in their room. I seriously am loving that they are old enough to entertain themselves and play together for 30 minutes or so. #lifechanging I also organized all of the girls puzzles, which is always a good feeling #babysteps Zetta is always begging to go to Discovery Playhouse, so we went there after Nora woke up from her nap for about an hour and burned a little bit of energy! My mom came over that evening so Pete and I could go on a mini date (dinner)! Pete and I rarely get away without our girls so it is always refreshing to get a little one on one time and uninterrupted conversation! (THANKS MAMA!) We came home and Zetta was asleep so we got a little one on one time playing with Nora. It's easy to miss the little things when you have two kids. I love the stage Nora is in right now!

CLEAN FLOORS!

I am excited to see if this keeps the pieces with the puzzles!

Never will they both look at the camera in the same picture. Ha.

Our favorite selfie spot!! Zetta asked to sit and take a picture (it was obviously too sunny for a selfie)!

It was really hot, so I was letting the car cool off before we got in and little gardener Zetta could not stand the amount of weeds in the flower bed. You're welcome city of Cape for my little weed puller!

Weekend Recap!

On Friday when I got off, Nora stayed home with my mother in law during the day because she was "sick" the day before. She ended up taking over a 3 hour nap, so I am thankful she stayed home and got some rest! I ran and got Zetta and we went to SAM's before going home to pick up a few things that I needed for my friend Janice's shower on Sunday. We got home and the girls (Zetta) were begging to go to Discovery Playhouse. We use to go at least once a week and now that I got my new job we just can't seem to fit it into our schedule. They are open until 7 pm on Friday's so we went for it! We were the only ones there, so the girls were running crazy!

Zetta convinced her Gaga that she needed an umbrella as we were leaving. Janet wanted to get her a little treat for doing so amazing using the big girl potty anyway, so it worked out! :)
After we played, we met Papa for dinner at a little local pizza place. There was a long wait so Nora and I chilled outside while we waited because the weather was B-E-A-U-tiful!! Look at that little cheeser. This age is so fun!

Saturday we woke up and made pancakes. I had to document the fact that I burnt pancakes for the first time EVER. Wah..doing to make things at once!
Pete had to work the majority of the day, so the girls and I headed to the farmer's market with my friend Tara, and then went to my parent's to swim a little bit. My parent's were doing yard work, so the girls and I picked up a few sticks and hung out with them more than we actually swam, but it was fun to just hangout and have no plans or no where to be all day!!

We stopped by Orange Monkey to check on Daddy at work. The perks of owning a kid's entertainment facility, your kid get's the best seat in the house for watching zip liners!!

This was the sun set when we pulled into the driveway Saturday evening. Nothing better than a summer sunset. God is good!!

Sunday morning the girl's wanted to eat watermelon and gold fish on the front step. I said why not! We were out there for over an hour just sitting and playing. Pete was super happy because he got another hour of quiet, uninterrupted sleep...that's RARE!

We loaded up, and all went and looked at a few potential houses for Pete to purchase before I headed to prep for Janice's shower! She got so many good gifts!!! The wedding is just two short weeks away and I could not be more excited!!! We had a great day celebrating one of the best friend's a girl could have! We all ended up staying way later than planned, just sitting on the front porch! I am so thankful for a husband that doesn't blink an eye when I get home 4 hours later than I said...oops. Thanks, babe!

Janice's future in law's!

Front porch sitting with these fun girls!

We had a great weekend! Have a great week!!

Labor Day Weekend

We didn't really have any plans for the extra long weekend, and it is a good thing because the weather was pretty nasty the whole time. On Friday we both worked during the day and then went to dinner with my parents that night. They were suppose to go on a motorcycle trip with another couple but, that got cancelled due to the weather. They ended up making a change of plans and the 4 of them left early this morning and headed for a short weekend get a way in Nashville. So jealous that they are actually doing something! After dinner Pete brought me home and headed back out the door to Cape Centrals football game. A few of his friends coach/teach around the area so he tries to go to a few games every year. It was POURING down rain so I stayed at home and decided to hook up the old Nintendo and play a little Donkey Kong. Pete came home early and turned on a football game. I read a few blogs and fell asleep pretty quickly. :)
Saturday I woke up around 7:30, checked all my normal morning things on my phone and then got up. Pete got up shortly after me because he was meeting people to work on our rental house around 9am. I ate breakfast, showered, and got ready for the day. I had a few errands to run, so I jumped in the car and did those. On my way downtown to the market, I stopped in at the new bakery that just opened up. I ended up getting a cinnamon roll, it was delicious.

The place is still new and working things out, but it was so cute! The have different flavors of cupcakes each day, plus cookies, brownies, coffee's, etc. I really hope that it makes it because our town really needs something like this! Since my parents are out of town, I ran to Jackson to let their dogs out before I came home. Once I got home I ate lunch and watched a few episodes of The Hills since there is a marathon on all weekend long! Pete got home around 5, took a shower and got cleaned up from working all day. We headed back to Jackson to feed my parents dogs and visit with his mom for a bit. Her husband was out of town so she was home alone all weekend! We had dinner plans with my friend Erin at BWW, so we headed back to Cape to meet her. A few of Pete's friends ended up being back at the bar watching all the games, so we stayed a little later than planned! After dinner we just came home and both fell asleep on the couch pretty quick!
Sunday was a lazy day! Neither one of us set an alarm (terrible, I know) so we missed church. The only good thing about that is I actually slept in for once! I feel rejuvenated, finally!! I made pancakes for breakfast (more like brunch) and then we laid around and caught up on a few recorded shows. I had to go to the store to get everything for a dip that I told a friend I would bring that night for a get together at their new house, so I got ready and did that. I also may have made a quick trip by Starbucks to get my first pumpkin spice latte of the season!! I just wanted to sit there and savor every single sip. It was delicious!!  Around 3:30 we loaded up and headed to the Harrell's. They recently moved to Sikeston and have been painting/ renovating their new house since they moved in, so we were excited to see all the updates!! They made a shrimp boil for dinner (YUM) and we all just hung out pretty late since no one had work or school the next day!
Monday was a pretty lazy day for us also! I got up pretty early (not by choice), ate my breakfast, and watched a few shows that I had recorded that I don't make Pete suffer through. Aka, Beverly Hills Nannies, and Keeping up with the Kardashians! Ha. When Pete got up we cleaned the garage a little bit and I trimmed my potato vines back, they were taking over the front porch! Other than that we just sat around the majority of the day. I moved a few decorations around in the house and started to figure out where I wanted to hang everything! Here is the most updated thing I have done. I really wanted a collage type wall but the first one I did I was just never satisfied with it. I also realized that I do not have any pictures of us or family in the whole house, so I am going to replace everything in the frames with family pictures. I think I will like it a lot more!!

First Attempt:

I know the pictures aren't that great, I was did it quick to text others for advice :)

Second Attempt:

The "ram" head will be going in baby girls room. I think it will get more of the attention that it deserves. :) Plus, I just like this one a lot more!
My mom asked us to come over for dinner since they had been gone all weekend, so we headed over to their house for the evening and ate some delicious homemade fried chicken! Thanks mama!

I think that wraps up our lazy weekend! Hope everyone got as much rest as we did!! :)

xoxo,
Erin

Weekly Update and the FLU!

Ok so this past week....and a half I had great intentions on posting, but I was busy everyday and everyday I would think..I really need to post and I wouldn't. So the next day I would think about posting about the past two days, and three days, and four days and then the hubs got sick, then I got sick. So here I am sitting up straight for the first time in 2 days writing about our whole week!
Monday--Ever since I was 10 my mom and my two aunts from her side would go shopping for my birthday. They also did this with my sister and my other girl cousin Aly. We are all still doing it today..My sister is 25, I am 22, and my cousin Aly will be turning 16 this year!! Now that I am not living at home it is so fun for me to have a day to hangout with my mom and just catch up. I feel like the only way we can do this really is if we get out of town because we both stay so busy here at home! We started the day with pedicures, then met my sister and Wyatt for lunch before heading to the mall! The whole day was great and I got a bunch of very cute clothes, which is the whole goal right? :)

Tuesday-- I worked 8am-8pm. That pretty much sums it up.
Wednesday--On Wednesday's I babysit a little girl all day, she is so fun and has the biggest personality I have ever seen in a two year old!! For example, When I asked her what she wanted for breakfast and I started naming all the cereal in the cabinet, when I said lucky charms, she shouts "lucky charms, that's what I'm talkin bout!" I almost died laughing. It is true, kids say the darnest things ( I sound like my motherr ;) ) Then normally I sit for my other family on Thursday night's but this week they needed me Wed, so I headed straight over there when I was finished for the rest of the evening.
Thursday--I worked 5am-5pm and Pete was off that day so when I got home we ran some errands and got a few things from the store and came home and made dinner and just caught up on some shows on our DVR!
Friday--Normally I am off Friday's, but I had a baby shower that I wanted to go to on Saturday so I asked a girl to switch me and therefore I worked all day Friday. Then after work I ran to target and got a gift for the shower and went to my hair appointment.. I got red put in my hair and I am going to have to say I am not use to it yet..hopefully it will wear on me, or fade whichever comes first! :) I also got some things to make so last minute Valentine's day decor....

When Pete got off work we went to eat at Fazoli's and went to see Just go with it with our friends Brad and Kristi.

I'll admit when he described which movie it was, I was not excited at all. I did not think it was going to be very good, just a guy with a fake wedding ring, trying to get girls...but, I can honestly say it was one of the best movies I have seen in a long time! Pete and I have been on a movie kick lately, like 2 a week and this one tops them all! When we got in the car I was like man! I could watch that again!..Pete even agreed! I highly recommend it!!

Saturday--Pete woke up feeling horrible. I would have to say that Pete is a pretty tough guy and doesn't really complain too much..ever. So when he does I know he is really feeling bad. He can't really call into work so he toughed it out and headed off to work. I got ready for the baby shower and picked up a few things around the house before it was time to go. The shower was in a town about 45 minutes away so another girl from work, Shelby, who recently got engaged and asked me to be her matron of honor (!!!!), rode together, we had a lot of wedding deets to talk about anyways! :) Our conversation made the drive pass by quickly! The shower was so sweet and Maggie looked adorable! Her due date is April 8th and its a boy, Owen Daniel! I can't wait! :) When we got back to Cape I ran to the store and picked up so soup and cheese to make grilled cheese with for dinner since Pete was sick. We just hung out on the couch and watch TV.
Sunday--Pete woke up feeling better, but I let him sleep in until about 10am. and then we got up and I made breakfast and we went and ran a few errands. It was a really nice day outside so we decided to go to a few open houses for the fun of it and just look. Which was fun, we are always looking :). Then, we decided to head to Jackson and hangout with our parent's for a bit. We have to pass sonic to get to his mom's house, and lucky for me it was 3:32..happy hour! So we had to make a pit stop :). We hung out over there for a bit and then headed over to my parent's. They are training for a half marathon (GO THEM) and since they were in STL at my sisters all weekend, they didn't have a chance to do their long run until Sunday, so as Pete and I pull onto our street I see them running up the hill on their way home..from running 9 miles! SO proud of them, wish I was in that good of shape again! We hung out there for a bit, then headed home and grilled some chicken and green beans for dinner. What a relaxing Sunday!
Monday--on the other hand was not so relaxing, I work up at 4am sprinting for the toilet, or something to be sick in..and it last all. day. long. I have not been sick like that since I was a kid I do not think. Miserable! I layed in bed all day, I did not do one thing. And, I continued to lay there until about 2 on Tuesday and then got up, took a shower, and ate some soup. Then layed on the couch the rest of the day/ night. :) I am disappointed that I was sick over Valentines day. Not because Pete and I had big romantic plans, because neither one of us get too excited about Valentines day, but because we have had a joke going for a long time that I was going to get a Papa Murphy's heart shaped pizza for v-day dinner and I couldn't..now I have to wait a whole year :( I told him what I was going to do though, he said he could wait a year ;) Thank goodness he is so understanding. HAHA!
Today, Wednesday, I am feeling way better and came to babysit today. C is taking a nap ;). I plan on running so errands when I get done here before I head home and start dinner. I feel like I have so much to do since I was sick the first 2 days of the week. I hate feeling behind. I am going to Columbia with 2 of my girlfriends this weekend for Pete's sister's 21 bday celebration. I am so excited to see all my friends up there, but sad at the same time because this is the first time Pete and I have been apart in a long time, plus he is off work...makes it hard to leave! Maybe he will actually get some things done around the house that he has really wanted to do since I won't be there to follow him around like a puppy dog! HA!
Well think that was long enough!??!
HAPPY HUMP DAY!
