Friday Favorite's

Good Morning! To start the whole back to blogging thing off right, I thought I would join in with Erika and do some of my favorite things right now! They are completely random, but if you know me, that is no surprise!
                         Momfessionals
1.   The first item up for business would be my new Lilly planner! I have to admit, I am usually one to get a planner and not really use it after a few months. This year though, I am determined to stick with it. I think it will help my mind not be running non-stop trying to remember everything I have to do because once I write it down, I forget about it until I see it again. Plus, it's beginning to be my super busy time at work with birthday parties and I need to have those all in line so things go smoothly for everyone!

2. Nora's activity mat! Zetta really didn't care too much for any type of toy until she could sit, but Nora is the total opposite. She LOVES toys hanging above her head. In her car seat, on the floor, where ever she is it makes her happier, and we all want a happy baby!! Although, sometimes she plays a little too hard! Ha!

3. This candle! My mom always gets this scent, and I have to say it does smell amazing! Voluspa Goji Tarocco Orange! My favorite little local shop here, Bloom, carries the whole line! Mmmm

4. The 3/4 sleeve piko! I know Piko's are sort of old news, but I finally broke down and bought one after I had Nora and I seriously want it in every color! It can be dressed down with just a pair of shorts, or you can dress it up with a  statement necklace! It hides the "after baby belly" quite well if I do say so myself! I buy mine from ShopRiffRaff, mainly because I love that store, but also because it's free shipping! They do sell out SO fast though, so you have to order quick when they come in! They also have loose sleeve ones now, and I am dying to try one out! This is the one that I have..I stole the image straight from RiffRaff's website

5. I am LOVING that both my girls are still sleeping and it is 8:06 in the morning! What a way to start out my Friday! Nora has been sleeping 12 hours straight at night for almost a week now! It is amazing. But, I think it all has to do with the fact that we finally moved her to her crib, and got the over night diapers. That girl pees, a lot! It is quite nasty. She would wake up and would have leaked through every single night. So, Pete ordered both the girls the Pampers overnights and they have both been sleeping so. much. better. Praise the Lord. I can get up at 5am, go to the gym, shower, blog, and drink a cup of coffee all before they wake up. If that isn't a perfect way to start a day, I don't know what is! ;)

Oh, blogging

Well, I am 4.5 months in as a mother of two and I just now feel like I have my head on straight. Man, the adjustment to two kids for us was extremely hard! Maybe it was because when we had Zetta our life really didn't change that much! She was an extremely easy baby from the start! Slept great, ate great, and we still went and did everything we would normally do, we just brought her along! Restaurants, stores, etc. She was just easy! With two, that is just not really possible. Plus, Pete and I were spoiled and still both got quite a bit of alone time, separate and together. With two, both of us are busy, the whole entire day, and that was a huge change! But, at 4 months, I think we both kind of got it figured out and we are doing much better! I think we will wait a little bit long before we have another one though! Ha! I officially went back to work after 5 weeks, but I never really took a full maternity leave, it just wasn't worth teaching someone else how to do parts of my job for such a short time. I still did all the billing, payroll, scheduling, etc, but I just didn't physically go into work. As far as childcare goes, I have the best boss ever, and he lets me bring Nora to work with me right now. So, I bring Nora with me on Monday's and Tuesday's, I am off on Wednesday's, my mom watches the girls on Thursday, my mother in law does Friday's, and Pete does Saturday's! Then for Zetta, my good friend Erin watches her Monday's, Pete is a champ and takes her to work with him on Tuesday's, then she is the same as Nora the rest of the week. Whew!!! It get's pretty crazy when someone is out of town, or has other obligations, but we are super thankful and lucky that we have not had to send the girls to childcare yet!! I am working on Nora's birth story so that will be coming soon! Stay tuned, now that I have my act together, I should be posting more often! Hopefully!!

A day in the life..pre-baby

I meant to do this before I had Zetta, but time just got away from me. It is still pretty fresh in my mind so I will go ahead and post it now (this was written when Zetta was 6 weeks old)

Pete and I would wake up somewhere between 8:30-9:30am, sometimes even as late at 10am. I would shower and get ready for the day. For the past year I have been working for my mom so my schedule was pretty laid back, especially while I was pregnant. I would head over to the Cape store and grab tickets from the previous day and then head to Jackson. I would normally stop at the Jackson shop and then to my moms. I would work until around 3 or 4pm. On Monday nights Pete would come over to my moms and we had dinner there (Their neighbor and her daughter always come over on Mondays, so we join in on the party)! I would normally be home no later than 5. Since Pete kind of makes his own schedule, he would get home around the same time as my everyday. We would talk about our days and then I would cook dinner. We would eat and then do the dishes together. After dinner, we would either watch recorded TV together, or run errands (Lowe's, Menard's, Target, etc.). Sometimes we would go back to a house Pete was working on and do a few things that needed to get done before morning. Usually he would take me so I could sweep the floors and wipe everything down. :) I would usually fall asleep on the couch about 10 or 11 and then I would transfer to bed when Pete went to bed (about 1am or so).
That was pretty much my schedule everyday. Close to the end of my pregnancy I would get so emotional if we would just hop in the truck and run an errand together because I knew that once the baby was born we wouldn't do that anymore and it made me really sad. We went everywhere we could together in the first 2 years of our marriage and I knew that once we had a child, that would end. That time in the car was so special to me. Don't get me wrong, I was over the moon excited for the new chapter of our lives, but it is always sad when something like that ends.
Now I need to do a post baby day pre work and after I started working. Well, I can do a pre work day pretty easy. Wake up, feed Zetta, change Zetta, hold Zetta. Repeat. :) That is all I did for the first 8 weeks of her life, no joke.

xoxo,
Erin
