Weekend Recap!

On Friday when I got off, Nora stayed home with my mother in law during the day because she was "sick" the day before. She ended up taking over a 3 hour nap, so I am thankful she stayed home and got some rest! I ran and got Zetta and we went to SAM's before going home to pick up a few things that I needed for my friend Janice's shower on Sunday. We got home and the girls (Zetta) were begging to go to Discovery Playhouse. We use to go at least once a week and now that I got my new job we just can't seem to fit it into our schedule. They are open until 7 pm on Friday's so we went for it! We were the only ones there, so the girls were running crazy!

Zetta convinced her Gaga that she needed an umbrella as we were leaving. Janet wanted to get her a little treat for doing so amazing using the big girl potty anyway, so it worked out! :)
After we played, we met Papa for dinner at a little local pizza place. There was a long wait so Nora and I chilled outside while we waited because the weather was B-E-A-U-tiful!! Look at that little cheeser. This age is so fun!

Saturday we woke up and made pancakes. I had to document the fact that I burnt pancakes for the first time EVER. Wah..doing to make things at once!
Pete had to work the majority of the day, so the girls and I headed to the farmer's market with my friend Tara, and then went to my parent's to swim a little bit. My parent's were doing yard work, so the girls and I picked up a few sticks and hung out with them more than we actually swam, but it was fun to just hangout and have no plans or no where to be all day!!

We stopped by Orange Monkey to check on Daddy at work. The perks of owning a kid's entertainment facility, your kid get's the best seat in the house for watching zip liners!!

This was the sun set when we pulled into the driveway Saturday evening. Nothing better than a summer sunset. God is good!!

Sunday morning the girl's wanted to eat watermelon and gold fish on the front step. I said why not! We were out there for over an hour just sitting and playing. Pete was super happy because he got another hour of quiet, uninterrupted sleep...that's RARE!

We loaded up, and all went and looked at a few potential houses for Pete to purchase before I headed to prep for Janice's shower! She got so many good gifts!!! The wedding is just two short weeks away and I could not be more excited!!! We had a great day celebrating one of the best friend's a girl could have! We all ended up staying way later than planned, just sitting on the front porch! I am so thankful for a husband that doesn't blink an eye when I get home 4 hours later than I said...oops. Thanks, babe!

We had a great weekend! Have a great week!!

It's Friday!!

TGIF! I could not be happier that it is Friday and next weekend is a holiday weekend! HOLLA!! Exciting times ahead! Today I am linking up to share some of my FAVORITE things on this beautiful Friday! I am linking up with a few of my favorite blogs today to share my favorite things!

This is one of my FAVORITE views and hope to see it many times this weekend! I am so happy this girl is loving the water this summer (and her sisters float!).

This past Christmas, Pete's mom and step-dad made the girls this amazing tent. It was still at our old house because it wouldn't fit in the back of my Tahoe and I never asked anyone to help me move it until this past week. It is one of the girls FAVORITE places to hangout. The eat their breakfast in there, read books in there, and even hang out with Papa! We love having it up, and I think I get a gold star for letting it be in my living room! Ha!...kidding!

Although the circumstances were not good, I was happy to spend the afternoon with my FAVORITE girls yesterday! Daycare called about 11:30 am and said that Nora was sick. Pete went and picked her up, and I headed home about 12:30 pm that way I would only have to take a half day off of work. We weren't sure how sick she really was, so Pete left Zetta there in case we really needed to focus on our sick girl. When I got home she was running around the house laughing and soaking in the one on one  time with her daddy!! We hung out around the house and she played and acted totally normal. We went and picked up Zetta a little early and I had to run to Target for a gift for a bridal shower this weekend. We did those things, and Zetta tinkled on the potty at Target, so she got a cake pop as a reward! :) We were ALL the way on the opposite side of the store and she said, "Mommy, I have to go potty!!!!" So we did the sprint like crazy people, but we made it! Her first day of no accidents. So proud of my big girl!!! Anyway, Nora definitely not her normal self, but she isn't too terribly sick, so I am thankful we are on our way to recovery!

She looks super sick, doesn't she?! ;)

I am loving how much Zetta is getting into gymnastics. Mila is on vacation this week, so Zetta got a little one on one time with her teacher last night. I am so proud of how well she is doing, and how much she is improving in just 4 weeks. Easy to say this is becoming one of her FAVORITE things to do!

That moment when you have been trying to get a picture to upload not upside down for 45 minutes and cannot figure it out! GRR! That is not one of my FAVORITE things, but I had to share. Does anyone else get annoyed with blogger and uploading pictures the wrong way, or is it just me?? Man, worst thing about it!
Anyway, I am looking forward to a low key weekend with my FAVORITE people. One of Pete's step-brothers and his girlfriend are coming into town this weekend, so Pete is playing golf with them early in the morning. I am sure he is excited to get to play on a Saturday morning! With two small kids, those extra little activities are the first to go it seems like. Now that the girls are a little older we are both starting to do things for ourselves again, and it has been refreshing! I think the girls and I will get up and head to the Farmer's market to get our FAVORITE doughnuts while Daddy is scorching on the golf course!

Have a fabulous weekend!

Nora's FIRST birthday!

Back in March our sweet, baby girl, Nora turned ONE! We just had a small party at our house with a few friends and family. I didn't get any picture's of the food, but we just had donuts, fruit, and my mom made these sausage balls that were a huge hit! My sister in law made an adorable tray of fruit skewers with "clouds" of whip cream at the bottom. I am so sad I didn't take any pictures! Baby girl liked the cake, but did NOT like touching it. She was the cutest. Makes my heart skip a beat looking at these pictures. Babies are a lot of work, but so much fun! Happy birthday Nora Katherine!! We love you so much!!

What's up Wednesday!

I am going to try and mix both of these link up's because I have been wanting to post about making taco ring with Zetta, but I also am going to do the fun, What's up Wednesday questions!!

What we're eating this week..
I have cooked more than normal this week, and it's only Wednesday!
Monday: we had Erin's supreme. A recipe my mom and I made up when I was a kid. It is delish. I will share the recipe sometime soon or message me if interested and I will send it your way!
Tuesday: I tried pepperoni pizza burgers with sweet potato fries and corn on the cob \
Wednesday: Pete play's golf so the girls and I will probably just have left over's from the past two nights!
Thursday: We have gymnastics so I have to do something quick and easy! I am planing on cooking the meat for the Taco ring in the morning,so all I have to do is throw it together and bake! It doesn't take any time at all! Here is the link to the actual recipe from Pampered Chef. I do not fill the middle with all the delicious toppings though, we just eat ours with salsa. I am sure it is great loaded, too, though!
Friday: Pizza and watermelon by Eesie and Poppie's pool!!

What I am reminiscing about...
Vacation! It feels like it was forever ago even though it was only last month. I am ready to go back already!

What I'm loving...
Summer activities with my two favorite girls! Lots of bike rides, swimming, Popsicle's, and all things summer!

What we've been up to...
Birthday parties, baby showers, weddings, gymnastics, starting a new daycare, potty training(!!) and again, all things summer!!

.

What I am dreading...
Totally honest, I dread taking my girls to daycare every morning. I know they have a fabulous time, but dropping them off never gets easier.

What I am working on...
I have been working on growing my ItWorks! business. I recently joined in with my sister and became a distributor with ItWorks! I tried their products along time ago when I was in college and knew they were good. Then, my sister had AMAZING results from the stretch mark cream, I was sold. I really do believe in the products, and have seen many close friends and family quit their jobs because their income became large enough to pay off debt and support their families! I want to do this to help my family financially, and give us more freedom to spend time as a family instead of worrying about money and such.

What I am excited about...
I may be a bit repetitive, but I am excited about growing my ItWorks business. We had a sponsor call last night, and it gave me the exact motivation to quit worrying about what other's think, and know that this is a decision that is going to help my family! You can't knock something until you've tried it, right?!

What I am watching/reading...
I want to become a reader. I really do. I use to read all the time, but when I run short on time, that is the first thing that goes. Right now I am slowly reading Unglued by Lysa Terkeurst. It has been great so far!
I am watching
and CAN NOT WAIT for Big Brother to start this week!

What I am listening to...
When I am at work I usually have head phones in listening to something. On Pandora I have really been into Phillip Philips, Carrie Underwood, Jeremy Camp, or 90 top hits radio. I am also listening to The Nester's podcasts that she does with her dad and sister for Hopeology. Those have been easy to listen to and very encouraging! If I am not listening to one of those, I am listening to YouTube tutorials on ItWorks products, and information that will be helpful to grow my business.

What I am wearing...
I have been wearing a lot of summer dresses during the week, and swimsuits and tank tops on the weekend's! I will try to be better at taking pictures for next month!

What I am doing this weekend...
I am excited that we do not have any big plans on Friday night or Saturday. I think we will go to my parent's and swim after work on Friday. Head to the farmer's market Saturday morning, and then hopefully head back to my parent's to chase my kids lounge around my parent's pool all afternoon! On Sunday I do have big plans, though! All of the bridesmaids, including myself, are hosting a bridal shower for one of my very best friends, Janice! Her wedding is in July and I could not be more excited for her and her future husband, Gabe!

The picture on the left was our very first picture together. We were freshman in college I believe. Hard to believe that was almost 7 years ago!

What I am looking forward to next month...
Lot's of fun things in July! Independence day weekend, Janice's wedding, and a girl's weekend later in the month! July is a pretty busy month, but it is going to be a fun one, that's for sure!

What else is new...
Well, we decided to go ahead and start potty training Zetta. She was showing all the signs that she was ready and when I mentioned big girl panties she was super excited. We went to Target and she picked out the kind she wanted, Doc McStuffins, of course. We started on Saturday and she only had 3 accident's all day. Then on Sunday she only had one! I was super impressed because I was a bad mom, and didn't really slow down and stick close to home all weekend. We were busy pretty much the whole weekend, so I was really happy with how well she did! She didn't do so hot Monday at "school", but yesterday was a ton better. She does really well at home, but I think at school she is just busy playing and forgets. All and all it is going much better than I expected, though. Woo for only having one kiddo in diapers!

What are we doing this July 4th...
We really haven't decided what our plans are, yet. One of our good friends live about 45 minutes away and always have a big party. We may head down there, or we may just hangout at home and then go to my parent's and swim in the afternoon and head to Pete's moms to watch the city fireworks that evening. We don't really have a plan yet. I guess we will just see how everyone's moods are that morning! :)
