Working Out

Okay, so I know everyone has their famous working out post, so here is mine...
I only work on Tuesday's and Thursdays, therefore I weigh myself every Tuesday..let's just say this morning was not too pretty. Almost a year ago this time my dad and I started training for a half marathon (I cannot believe it has almost been a year!). I followed our training program like it was my life. Saturdays I would go out and run anywhere from 6-10 miles like it was nbd, and now..no way, I barely can run one! As a result, my body is totally out of "marathon shape" and it sucks! It is so upsetting that someone can work SO hard for something and then the instant that it is over not do what they did again. I almost feel like I need to be training for something in order to get my butt in gear. So I am determined to find an upcoming race so I can get back to the grind. Even if it is just a 5K. I know people say that as a girl gets older she loses her speed and can never get it back..I have been saying for the past year that I am going to train really hard and try to beat/get the time I ran my 5K in for soccer try-outs my freshman year. Sounds easy, except I ran it in 21 minutes and 4 seconds..yikes. HOW DID I DO THAT! So here I go on my hunt for a good race and workouts that will make me want to throw up be a challenge!
I will keep you updated of course!...Have a great day!

ps-- I am almost finished decorating my house for Christmas and I will do a little home tour so you can see where I live..even though we are not completely finished with the renovations..but honestly, is anyone ever finished! Ha!

Better Late than Never!

Okay, so I am not use to this whole blogging thing..obviously since I haven not posted in over a week! Here is some random tidbits of what you missed in our lives in the past week..
  • Sikeston lost, it was SO SO sad. They totally should have won, and didn't...I cried at the end of the game. Ha.
  • We have watched a lot of football on TV lately..I am beginning to really love it, good thing because I really do not have a choice! ha.
  • I love everything about being a wife...the cooking, cleaning, laundry, decorating, bills, the whole nine yards..I know people say it will wear off, and I am sure it will, but right now I am really enjoying it.
  • I love waking up to Pete everyday, it just starts my day off so well. I just wake up and thank God for giving me such an amazing husband, I am so blessed
  • We had a very relaxed and enjoyable Thanksgiving. We went to my families for breakfast and lunch and then Pete's mom, step-dad and step- brothers came over to our house for dessert. I love the time just to sit around and catch up.
  • I made my first two pecan pies, both flopped! They tasted good, but never settled so they were very, very runny.
  • We set up our Christmas tree, but have yet to hang the ornaments..
  • Pete went a little black Friday shopping crazy online at Lowe's, when we went to pick up the order the workers thought we were nuts..but he did get a lot of good stuff!
  • Pete also won a promotion at work..surprise surprise..;) and he got to pick two gifts out of a bunch of different things..so we got a grill and a camera!! We have already got the grill and it took us like 3 hours to put it together! He is so excited to use it. My parents gave us an old grill that they had and my brother and dad fixed up for us and we are so thankful and used the heck out of it! So now we have two..not sure if we do enough grilling for both, but hey who doesn't need two grills..!! HA! I really want the camera to get here..it is still a point-and-shoot, but a really good one..we went and looked at it at best buy before we got it. I like it though, until we have kids or another reason to get a really nice DSLR, I will be content with a point-and-shoot!
  • I am now just rambling, so I will quit writing now. and try to be better about posting everyday so you do not have to read all my rambling!!
Have a great night!

Finally Friday

Well, not much has gone on this week at our house. Normal work and school. Good news is that I only have FOUR MORE CLASSES until I graduate!! WOOHOO. I am so excited..if I only knew what I was going to do when I get out? Who knows, the majority of people have no clue what they are going to do with their degree when they graduate...right? ha. We did decide that when we both have the week off before Christmas we are going to go to Vegas! I went to Vegas this summer for my best friends 21st birthday. Her dad took Emily and three of her best friends, and I as one of them! We had a great time, we spent most of our time laying out, shopping, and going out so I am really excited to go with Pete because we will spend more time wandering around and looking at everything in Vegas, rather than partying the whole time. We might do some a lot of shopping as well. :) Anyways, tomorrow I work in the morning then Sikeston plays in the semi-finals so I will be going to the game and then after the game Patty is having people over, because we are assuming Sikeston is going to win! I will post pictures!
Happy Friday!!

Just the Two of Us

My sister recently did this and I thought since my blog is pretty new it would be neat to do!

1. What are your middle names? Erin Mae and Pete's real name is Charles then his middle name is Peter

2. How long have you been together? We have been together a year and five months...married a MONTH TODAY! :)

3. How long did you know each other before you started dating? 5 long years :)

4. Who asked who out? He asked me out

5. How old are each of you? I turned 21 in January and he turned 27 in August

6. Did you go to the same school?  We both went to Jackson High School, but not at the same time of course. He went to Mizzou for college and I go to SEMO

7. Are you from the same home town? I would say yes. Pete lived in Idaho for the first five years of his life, but I would think he would consider Jackson his home town..never asked him so I could be wrong..

8. Who is the smartest? Pete, no doubt

9. Who majored in what? I majored in Hospitality Management and he majored in Economics

10. Who is the most sensitive? Me for sure

11. Where is the furthest you two have traveled together as a couple? A placed called Maranatha in Michigan

12. Who has the worst temper? It depends on the subject, but Pete doesn't really have a temper at all, so I would have to say me...for sure

13. How many children do you want? As many as we can financially support. 3 or 4 for sure.

14. Who does the cooking? Normally me because he does get off work until 7:15 which would make for a late dinner if I waited on  him, but when he is off or on the weekends we like to cook together.

15. Who is more social? I am pretty shy around people I do not know, Pete is defiantly more social

16. Who is the neat freak? We are both neat freaks about different things. I could care less about my car and he is a freak about his car. I hate the house being dirty and he hates when stuff is laying around, like shoes, clothes, etc. He will pick up a lot!

17. Who is the most stubborn? We are both pretty stubborn I would have to admit

18. Who wakes up earlier? Me hands down, even on sleeping in days, I will wake up at least an hour before him

19. Where was your first date? Oh gosh, is it bad that I do not really remember..yikes. He will be mad about this! I feel like we went and got a snow cone...I know one of the first places we went out to eat together was O'Charleys...ooooppps

20. Who has the bigger family? As for immediate family we both came from families of 5. Now take one step out from there and his is way bigger!

21 How do you spend the holidays? We have only been together one year during the holidays so we really haven't had a "plan" but his family is very flexible, so we do my family traditions from when I was a kid and then go to his families in the evening of the holiday usually.

22 Who is more jealous? This has never really been an issue for us...

23 How long did it take to get serious? We knew each other so long before we actually were together that we knew once it was offical, it was serious

24 Who eats more? This is honestly a tricky one, ha. I snack A LOT so I eat a lot of little things throughout the day but he eats larger meals than me, because he doesn't snack..

25 What do you do for a living? I still go to school and work at a local gym part time and Pete works for AT&T

26 Who does the laundry? I normally do, but Pete sometimes helps out :) We both put the clothes away together though if he is there when I do the laundry

27 Who is better with the computer? Pete hands down!!!

28 Who drive when you are together? Pete does, always. He does not like to ride with me very much! ;)

29. What is your song? We have lots and lots of songs...just to name a few Sea Breeze-- Tyrone Wells, Whenever Were Alone--Brantly Gilbert, Better Together--Jack Johnson, the song we danced to for our first dance was When you got a good thing--Lady A, I could go on and on forever, we have like 3 cd's full of "our songs"

That's it! Have a good day!

Nephew Love!

Yesterday I decided that I missed little Wyatt way too much. So I didn't really have anything going on so I drove up and St.Louis and hung out with my sister and Wyatt all day..and my tag along ;) We went out to lunch at California Pizza kitchen and it was delicious! Wyatt is getting to the age where he loves to hear himself talk. He just babbles and screams and babbles and screams. We think its cute, but the tables all around us probably do not think it is as cute! O well though, it is fun. ha ha. After we ate we just walked around the mall and hung out. Breaking news that I walked out of the mall without buying ONE THING! I couldn't believe myself! ha. I just wasn't in the mood to dig through clothes and try a million things on...o well. I am sure I will be up there soon enough and I will make up for it then. :) We had a good day, and I can't wait for next semester when I don't have any class and I can dedicate one day a week and go up with my mom and spend a day with them, it will be so fun!

Yesterday was also my father-in-law's birthday! Happy birthday Wes!!! We went over to their house after Pete got off work to eat dinner and hangout. It is always a good time catching up with family. Wes and my mother-in-law Janet recently started working from home for a company called going green promotions and they run a local website called iluvlocalplaces. You can check both sites out here!
Hope you guys have a fabulous Tuesday!
Erin
ps! I do not know what I did to the highlighting color but I can NOT get it to go away...I am an idiot, so you will have to deal with it for this post..sorry!

Shutterfly!

I recently made the big switch from Kodak Gallery to Shutterfly. My whole family used Kodak gallery so that is what I was use to. But, when we registered at Target for our wedding we got a packet with a whole bunch of coupons in it, and one of them was Shutterfly. I thought I would check it out because it was a $20 gift card! I had also just been complaining to a friend about how much it cost me to print all my pictures and she told me to check out Shutterfly because it was easy to use and always had great deals. So when I got the coupon and had many people tell me to check it out, that is what I did! What can I say, I fell in love! I printed over 200 pictures from our wedding and it only cost me 27 dollars with shipping! I knew I was going to use Shutterfly again. I cannot wait to use more options that shutterfly offers either, they have an option where you can turn any picture into a canvas wall art, check it out here. There is so many pictures from the wedding that I would love to turn into a canvas and it is so easy with Shuterfly! There is also a place to make photo calendars. My mom always use to do this when we were little for all our family members and I wanted to do the same thing from events from our year and give them to our families at Christmas, but I didn't know which site was going to be the best. It was an easy decision when I saw how easy it was going to be to make them off shutterfly. That way, all the pictures I had taken from throughout the year are already saved to my account and I can just pick the pictures I want right off the site. Check out there photo calendars here.  When I got on to read Ashley's blog and she had this post I was excited to write about my experience with Shutterfly! If you would like to receive 50 free Holiday card go here. Like I said I am very new to Shutterfly, but I love everything about the site! Enjoy, and thank you Shutterfly for such an awesome opportunity!

Date Night!

Pete and I have a really bad habit of eating out, when we were dating all we did was eat out. But now that we are married and have our own house and kitchen we are TRYING to eat in at least 3 to 4 nights a week, that is a big deal people. Well, this week we ate in all 4 days(Mon-Thurs)! So last night we decided to go out to eat and go to the movies. One of my best friends works at Beef O Brady's, and she was working so that is where we went. I feel like when we go out to eat we always go to the same places, so this is always a good change for us. We had to go let Pete's/Pete's moms dog out first, so by the time he got home at 7:30 we drove to Jackson played with Darcy a while and got to Beef''s we had to hurry to eat, go to the gas station for candy of course, and be in the movie by 9:30. But we did it! A lot of his friends said the movie Due Date was really funny so that's what we went to see. It was really funny! Some parts were a little inappropriate, but there is hardly any movies these days that do not have inappropriate parts, in my opinion.
Zach Galifianakis was one of the star actors who also played in The Hangover, which was really funny so we knew it was going to be good. The movie got out at 11:30 and since it was suppose to rain this morning, we had to go over to our other house we are working on and tarp the trailers. We just ripped all the carpet out of the house and to take it to the dump, you pay by weight. Needless to say we wouldn't want to pay for soaking wet carpet to be thrown away. I did not want to do that after the movie, but when I woke up this morning to go to work and it was pouring down rain I was happy that we did it! So that was our Friday night! We are both working this morning then, I/we have to babysit tonight then we are both off Sunday so we can go to church together for the second week in a row! YAHOOO!
Have a good weekend everyone!

Schedules Schedules Schedules

So now that Pete and I have been married a few weeks and we are more on some type of schedule, its HARD. Since I only work Tuesday's and Thursday's for 12 hours from 5am-5pm. Because of that I have to go to bed at least by 10:30 on Monday and Wednesday nights and when I get off work I am exhausted. On the other hand Pete normally works anywhere from 9:45-10:45am until 7:15pm. So by the time he gets home and we eat dinner, clean the kitchen and sit down it is 9 o'clock at night. Therefore, the days I work by 9pm, I am wiped out! I normally fall asleep on the couch by 9:30, but it is a good thing he doesn't mind! Plus, on Thursday nights I still am babysitting the Silliman kids. Which is so fun and I enjoy it so much. Babysitting is my stress reliever, which sounds so weird, but kids are my passion and being around those kids now that I have sat for them at least once a week and sometimes more for over two years they have become so special to me, and Pete as well now. I don't think I will stop watching them until I have kids of my own to take care of. I think about my babysitters when I was little and it makes me sad that I don't remember them that well, because I adore these kids and will they even remember me when they are older? I don't know that's another post in itself, but is hard to think about. Back to the point of this post, since our schedules are so different I miss Pete. I am use to when I am with him I am there to see him and focus only on him. Now that we live together it is hard to get anything done when we are both there because all we want to do is hangout and not leave each others sides because that is what we have been use to for the past year and a half. I know this will probably fade with time, but right now I don't care about anything else, its OK just to sit there and not accomplish anything because I want to be with him. Or at least I think it is okay. :) Anyways, this was kind of a useless post, but I want to document our schedules every once and awhile because I am sure with my job and his job our hours will be changing quite frequently, so it will be nice to look back on.

Sikeston is going to the Quater-Finals!

Well Sikeston won!! 40-0! It was a blow out! I rode down to Sikeston with my friend Patty, who is Seth, the coaches wife. Since Pete and I have started dating Patty and I have became really really close. She is such an awesome person and I am so happy for how good of friends we have become in such a short time. Her birthday was yesterday. WooHoo. Shout out to Patty ;) I took my camera to the game to get some good pictures of the game and I go to turn it on and its dead. I haven't used it in so long. I guess I should have checked that before we went to the game. HA. Owell I got some on my phone but they are not good quality at all! Enjoy!

This was the band playing before the game started.

All the students lined up waiting for the players to run out!

I know it is reallllly blurry but all the players were rushing the field

Here is Patty and I freezing at the game, but it was worth it!!

The team plays again on Saturday, then if they win they play the next Saturday, THEN if they win that, they play at STATE in St. Louis the Saturday after Thanksgiving! WOOHOO Go Bulldogs!

Football..my favorite time of year

So I know it is late in the season, but football season is still one of my favorite times..it means it's the start of fall and cooler weather, leaves changing colors, and all of that good stuff. When I was in high school my football team was really good. Me and my girls rarely missed a game, home or away. They are going through a not-so-good streak and it is sad for everyone involved. Jackson was one of those towns that shuts down on Friday nights..everyone goes to the game. Even though they are not so good, the whole community still goes and supports them, which is so neat. But, because they aren't that good they didn't make it to districts..crazy! Good news is that a few of Pete's best friends from High School are now coaches of teams in the area, one being Sikeston's varsity special teams coach. Sikeston is undefeated this year and played their first round of districts last night and won..big time. The next game is tomorrow night against Cape, my high school's rival team. They are actually good this year so it should be a pretty good game. We are going to watch and I can't wait. It is cold here now so getting all decked out in our winter gear and sitting in the stands cheering is so fun no matter if it is for high school teams. GO SIKESTON! I'll keep you updated!

Busy, Busy, Busy..

Well, so I started this blog and have barely posted anything! I am sorry. I am still working on my honeymoon post..so that will be coming soon. I have been so busy lately and I just keep asking Pete how I can be SO busy when I only work 2 days a week..his response was "well when you have class from 9-10 and you go to lunch with Patty from 12-1, all the time in the middle is wasted so you don't actually start your day until 1pm..." I was okay you have a point, BUT usually I can stay really focused on my breaks and get a lot accomplished in short periods of time..nope, not now. I feel like I am slacking as a wife and I have only been married two weeks! HA! Or on my days off I am doing things for him that take up hourssss of my day. For example, the house that we are currently "flipping" is almost finished(yahoo) and so it was at the point where it needed to be cleaned so that it could be painted. When I say clean, it is not your normal cleaning it is picking up the trash left everywhere from the sheetrocking guys and vaccumming up all the dust so that when they go in and spray the paint, our walls aren't covered in dust. This is a semi-small house 2 bedroom, 1 bath, hall, living room, kitchen...pretty basic..nope took me 3 and a half hours to vacumm and 4 times of dumping the shop vac. Needless to say, not easy and took me wayyy longer than I expected. Then yesterday, the Ameren guy was suppose to come and turn on the heat so our pipes wouldn't freeze, well Pete was suppose to be off work and be there, but he ended up having to switch a girl shifts, which means I had to go sit and wait and wait and wait...3 and a half hours later the guy never showed up. Needless to say I was ANGRY!!! So I guess I can see how my days seem to fill up quickly! Anyways, hope I didn't bore you too much..have a great day and more to come tomorrow!
